A snowpark with 60 km of slopes and its three skiing sectors, Aulian, Béderet and Combe de Piet which share 28 slopes. Luz Ardiden is the resort for all types of snow sports, with a marked area dedicated to snowshoeing.
A few miles further south you'll be charmed by the wild side of Gavarnie with its 28 pistes. Gavarnie-Gèdre, also known as Espécières, is the cradle of Pyreneanism and the heir to a long tradition of mountain sports, providing a high mountainous setting. Spectacular!
The Grand Tourmalet is 2 resorts in one, with different atmospheres. Barèges and its authentic village, which is closer to us, and La Mongie. Over 100 kms peaking at an altitude of 2500 m, it offers 61 pistes.
The Pyrenees National Park and the Néouvielle Reserve with its 80 lakes offer as many emotions as natural landscapes to passionate hikers, with protected flora and fauna.
You'll undoubtedly come across herds in the summer pastures, curious marmots, overflown by vultures, lammergeiers and other protected birds of prey.
Some "celebrities" you should meet: the Brèche de Roland, the Mont Perdu or, for the most daring among you, the Vignemale with the Ardiden lakes...
Our campsite has the "Altamonta" label. It's a popular location for cycling enthusiasts! There is of course the mythical ascent of the Tourmalet, then of Ardiden for the closest, not to mention the Hautacam, Aubisque and Soulor!
Here we're in the domain of the climbers who earn renown from these races. Amateurs take on the greatest champions of the Tour de France.
There's also something for campers and caravanners with more than 1160km of mountain bike trails for all levels.
Close to the campsite are 2 mountain bike circuits: : Circuit 1 - Circuit 2
Cycling Map of the region
If you look up from the campsite early in the morning or late in the afternoon, you'll see strange birds flying overhead... In two-seaters or in formation, the paragliders will perform a beautiful ballet for you. From the resort of Luz-Ardiden in summer and winter you'll see them flying over the village.
With, of course, other take-off areas in Barèges, Hautacam and Cauterets!
